Race Day

Race day is a hectic day and the first task at hand for the pit crews, get the car ready for technical inspection. A lot goes into making sure everything is perfectly sized when it comes to tire pressure, car height, length from wheel to wheel, and much more!

Ready to Run the Race

Every little measurement effects performance in the area of speed, and even lack of speed. Tech inspection is key before the race to make sure all the drivers are also playing by the rules. There are no short cuts, and no cheats allowed. If things don’t line up properly, it’s back to the garage area.

Of course just because a car doesn’t pass inspection, does not mean it’s disqualified. While back in the garage area, corrections are made. After the changes are made, the car starts at the end of the longest line. Then it’s up to the driver to work his car back up through the pack. Just because something doesn’t measure up during inspection, does not mean you’re out of the race.

Training for Life

Throughout Scripture we find many references to running the race well, being in good shape, and lining up with the Word of God. Paul writes, “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose every step” (1 Corinthians 9:24-26).

While spending the day at the track is always fun, and winning the race is always great, what really matters is how we run the race of life. Let’s do so with purpose in every step, as we aim for the eternal prize.
