When It Rains At The Track

The race season kicks off this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. But, it’s been rainy and foggy all day. A photographer friend and I arrived at the track around 10:30 this morning. Most of the day has been spent sitting in the media center.

This is also one of the first times I’ve been out doing anything even remotely connected with ministry in quite some time. I’ve chatted with a few people about their faith as we look outside at the fog. Much of what is done in the way of ministry at a race track is in the form of building relationships. It’s also wonderful when I can use real life surroundings as faith connectors.

Slippery When Wet

The journey called life has many road conditions. Today they are slippery when wet. When running the race with Jesus, while we keep our eyes on the prize He has already won for us, road conditions do change from time to time. When the roads are wet, using caution is best. This morning there were cars on the track. But the conditions have changed this afternoon.

Foggy Conditions

When fog rolls in, it usually turns into red flag conditions. Nothing is happening on the track, but now is not the time to stop all work. When it’s foggy, we can work to either clear the fog from our minds, or simply work on our walk with Jesus. In this case, at the track, it’s time to work on the tools of the trade. The race cars.

Just a guy on a journey,

Rus
