Christmas Eve: What Really Matters

Rushing here and rushing there,
Sometimes feeling like the County Fair.
People with smiles, people with frowns,
Some almost look like circus clowns.

It’s Christmas time, it’s Christmas time,
People must think all is fine.
But underneath the hustle and bustle,
Some can barely lift a muscle

People come and people go,
But are we lost in the busy flow.
Christmas programs here, Christmas programs there,
But what if some just don’t care.

It’s Christmas time, it’s Christmas time,
But what if all is not so fine.
Have we lost the meaning of what it’s supposed to be like,
Because we think it’s all about lights.

Long before anyone said ‘Lights camera action’,
The Father in Heaven took a different direction.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of a different season,
He chose some shepherds to announce the real reason.

It’s Christmas time, it’s Christmas time,
When the Father in Heaven announced His family line.
A group of Wisemen searched for a stranger,
And came across a King, laying in a manger.

Before all the lights, before all the presents,
The Angels announced a new Kings Presence.
The time had arrived for a promise to come,
From the Father in Heaven, it would be from.

It’s Christmas time, it’s Christmas time,
Let’s forget about the Santa rhyme.
For a moment or two step away from the clatter,
Remembering the thing that really matters.

On the first Christmas Eve, Good News was announced,
Bringing great joy to all people, the Angel pronounced.
The Savior, yes Messiah, the Lord has been born,
Let’s join the Angel choir, declaring that message this Christmas morn.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight.

Just a guy on a journey,

Rus
