Our Story
Fresh-Wind Ministries was founded by Rus & Sandra Jeffrey based on a prophetic word. Following the dedication of a new church building in the denomination they were then ministering in, the Lord had Rus driving around town looking at empty buildings. At the end of the day, while sitting in his car in front of yet another empty store front, Rus made the following journal entry:
“God had me looking at empty buildings today. I’m not sure why as we just dedicated a brand new sanctuary yesterday. I asked God why He had me doing this. The Lord responded saying, ‘Just checking.’ I said, ‘checking what?’ He said, ‘Fresh-Wind.’ I responded, ‘Whatever that means.'”
A few years later during a time of ministry transition, Fresh-Wind Ministries was birthed in Newark, New York in 2002. Since then Fresh-Wind is now incorporated in both Canada and the United States.
God is on the move, not only doing a new thing, but also declaring we are in a new era!
Our Ministry
As a traveling ministry we equip the Body of Christ and church congregations through guest speaking and teaching. We encourage believers through various articles on our website, as well as other written material. We are also raising up what are known as Houses of Prayer Everywhere (HOPE). This has a two-fold purpose. Establishing HOPE in communities across the nation, while also encouraging and raising up people to pray for the nation of Canada, and North America, on a regular basis.
Another facet of our ministry is Faith in Racing. As an avid race fan, Rus travels to various tracks building relationships not only with drivers, but also families, owners and track personnel.
Mentoring a Network of Church Leaders
Rus’ call to ministry in 1987 was both dramatic and specific. It was a call not only to ministry, but one to encourage, empower, and equip leaders. The following year both he and his wife Sandra embarked on their ministry journey, with Sandra’s call as a Pastor in 1991. Now coming up on 40 years of ministry, their heart and passion is to connect with the next generation of leaders, to encourage them in all they do along this journey called ministry.
After all these years in pastoral ministry Rus says…
“I’ve learned and discovered a few things in the refinement process of trying to walk with God in all I do. Instead of a guy trying to push people along in their spiritual growth, I’m Just a Guy on a Journey with others, trying to discover what it means to be a follower of Jesus, capturing the heart of the Father in all we do.”
